BS Communications and Journalism (1990), Ohio University
A native of northwest Ohio, I began working at the Arnold Arboretum in 1999. As Director of External Relations and Communications, I oversee programs for fundraising, constituent engagement including the membership program, and outreach communications. Among my responsibilities are serving as editor of the Arboretum’s member magazine Silva, managing electronic communications, and reporting on the Arboretum’s endowed funds. The Arboretum holds immense meaning to me not only as a beautiful urban landscape steeped in history, but also as a dynamic leader in the fields of horticulture, conservation, education, and the study of biodiversity.
In my spare time, I occasionally give tours of the Arboretum landscape as a docent, play the drums and write original music, take classes in museum studies at the Harvard Extension School, and photograph the Arboretum’s spectacular landscape and plant collections at every opportunity.
