By subway
Take the MBTA Orange Line to its southern end—Forest Hills. Exit through the door marked “Arnold Arboretum.” Cross Washington Street and enter through Washington Street Gate. Walk up the Blackwell Footpath until you reach an intersection, cross the street, and enter through South Street Gate. Walk about a minute up the road and take a left at the intersection. Walk a couple minutes until you see the Japanese Bridge on your right.
By bus
Take the #35 or #38 bus to Centre Street @ Faulkner Hospital. Cross Centre Street, walk north up Centre Street for a few minutes, and enter through the Centre Street Gate on the right. Bear right at the intersection, and then another right at the next intersection. Walk a couple minutes more until you see the Japanese Bridge on your right.
