Tanya Holton, Director of Institutional Advancement

For over 30 years, I have been an agent for change in nonprofit fundraising, administration, and programming in Boston. My passion for transforming nonprofits has enabled me to increase philanthropic revenue, expand external communications, build innovative programs, grow operations, and strengthen internal leadership dynamics. While I have worked for both large educational institutions and national nonprofits, my professional hallmark has been building vibrant, powerful programs with small fundraising teams. In my time outside of work, I research and write about nineteenth-century women’s education in America. My passion for conservation and preservation makes the Arnold Arboretum a perfect place for me to help others understand our past and create a better world for future generations—ensuring the Arboretum’s relevancy and vibrancy into the next century.
