Biography

I joined the Arnold Arboretum in May 2023 as a gardener working in plant healthcare. Previously, I worked for Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology program as a botany intern in 2019. I got an undergraduate degree in Biology at UMass Lowell in 2020, where I also volunteered with organizations including Mill City Grows, an urban farm and nonprofit in Lowell. Afterward, I got a Master’s degree in Plant Science at UConn in 2023, where I worked with native woody plants.

My interest in horticulture is varied, including native plants, sustainable and equitable food systems, landscape design, and stopping to look at all the plants and insects on walks. Growing up around my mom and grandparent’s gardens played a large part in my love for plants, where we got lots of homegrown vegetables and fruits (raspberries always being my favorite). Outside of horticulture, I enjoy art, walking, building stone walls, listening to podcasts and music, and learning new things.
