Meditation in the Collections for Older Adults
Immersing ourselves in nature has the power to calm our nervous system and tap into a greater sense of connection with the world around us. Please join Age Strong and the Arnold Arboretum for a guided nature meditation session in the jewel of Boston’s Emerald Necklace. This program will be guided by Bob Linscott, a certified nature meditation instructor. Participants will also learn some simple mindfulness practices they can use anytime they are outside.
This program takes place in the Leventritt Shrub and Vine Garden, but we will gather in front of the Hunnewell Building at 125 Arborway and take a van to the Leventritt.
Accessibility: This is a stationary, seated program. Chairs will be provided, and a van will be available to shuttle people from the Hunnewell Building to the meditation location in the Shrub and Vine Garden. The van is not wheelchair accessible.
Audience: This program is geared towards adults.
Inclement weather policy: Participants will be notified via email at least one day in advance if a program needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather, and will be notified by phone if a program must be cancelled with less one day’s notice.
