
A Journey Through Time: The Geology of the Arboretum
From puddingstone to drumlins, the Arboretum features an array of geological features that affect the landscape and the plants that grow here. Join professional geologist Andy Koenigsberg for a geology walk and learn about the rocky outcrops, boulders, and glacial features found across the Arboretum.
Accessibility: This walk covers about two miles, mostly on pavement with a shorter section of mowed grass, mulch, and gravel. The walk also includes two steep hills which will be optional to participants.
Audience: This program is geared towards adults.
Inclement weather policy: Participants will be notified via email at least one day in advance if a program needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather, and will be notified by phone if a program must be cancelled with less one day’s notice.
