How do you tell the difference between a fir and a spruce? What about a pitch pine and an Eastern white pine? Join herbalist Alex Klein for a tree identification class focused entirely on conifers, so that you can start ID’ing these fascinating trees in Massachusetts streets and forests.
There may be ice and snow on the paths: good footwear is encouraged!
Accessibility: This program will cover about a mile of walking over pavement, woodchips, and dirt paths.
Audience: This members-only program is geared towards adults. No prior plant ID experience necessary!
Inclement weather policy: Participants will be notified via email at least one day in advance if a program needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather, and will be notified by phone if a program must be cancelled with less one day’s notice.
