Biography

My interest in horticulture began in high school through working on an organic vegetable farm at The Food Project in Lincoln, MA. I found the farm work bridged my interest in being outside and doing physical work. Wanting to pursue this interest, I completed an agricultural sciences Bachelor’s degree at Cornell University. After completing my degree, I continued working on small-scale vegetable farms until I decided to try public horticulture through an apprenticeship at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA. I went on to work three and half years at Mt. Auburn where I grew to love working with trees and shrubs. I now care for several areas at the Arnold Arboretum in my role as a Horticulturist, including the hickories, magnolias, and tilias.
