Biography
As a plant technologist, I help tend to the research and teaching collection at Weld Hill. My responsibilities range from watering transgenic phlox to fertilizing the last living colony of Rwandan hot spring water lilies. I enjoy caring for the plant collection Weld Hill, as well as learning the ins and outs of greenhouse operations.
Growing up, I worked in a plant nursery and greenhouse situated on the bluffs of the Mississippi river in my hometown of St. Paul, MN. Since moving to Boston in 2017, I noticed some similarities between the two riverside cities and gained an interest in how vibrant riparian ecosystems can support water quality. One day, I hope to have a greenhouse of my own back in Minnesota growing native wetland plants for river restoration projects.
