Biography

Gillian Ehrman

I am a Curatorial Assistant I at the Arnold Arboretum, where I assist the Manager of Plant Records with plant assessment, mapping, and labeling in the permanent collection. Previously, I worked as a Seasonal Gardener on the horticulture crew, where I contributed to mulching, pruning, and planting throughout the Arboretum. I also had the opportunity to assist in teaching the Soil’s class for the Arboretum Young Scientists, which allowed me to engage with younger generations and share my passion for plants and the environment. This role deepened my connection to the Arboretum and strengthened my commitment to public gardens.

Working here has not only increased my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the intricate relationship between people and plants. I’m excited to be working in Curation and appreciate the opportunity to continue learning and growing in my field. I’m proud to be part of an organization dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of plant diversity, supporting conservation efforts, and educating the public through research and horticulture.
