Witch-hazel Walk
Did you know that flowers bloom at the Arboretum even in the depths of winter? Witch-hazels bloom in vibrant oranges, reds, and yellows across the landscape, giving a beautiful pop of color amidst the winter greys and whites. Join us on a tour and be ready to step off the path to admire the flowers of our native witch-hazels, as well as those from China and Japan.
Accessibility: Most of this program will be on woodchip paths, gravel paths, and paved roads, but participants may step off of the paths to see the witch hazels close up. Please dress for the weather and wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Audience: This program is geared towards adults.
Inclement weather policy: Tours may be canceled in cases of the following weather conditions: severe wind, snow, ice, thunder or lightning events; temperatures over 90 degrees; temperatures below 20 degrees or other weather events at the discretion of Arboretum staff. In the case of cancelation, you will be contacted by Arboretum staff no later than 2 hours before the start of the event. If you have questions about the status of a program, please email arbweb@arnarb.harvard.edu or call the Visitor Center desk between 10:00am and 4:00pm at (617) 384-5209.
