In the Arnold Arboretum, there is something blooming every month of the year—including February! From witch-hazel to winter-hazel, fothergilla to parrotia, the Hamamelidaceae family includes some of the most botanically fascinating and horticulturally valuable shrubs for the temperate garden. Join Andrew Gapinski, Director of Horticulture, for a very special mid-winter walk to explore the beauty of the Arboretum’s witch-hazel family collection, and its captivating history of development, evaluation, and scientific study here at the Arboretum. Snow or shine, the witch-hazels will certainly be in full bloom!

The walk is geared toward adults, and starts from the kiosk in front of the Hunnewell Building at 125 Arborway. This tour is limited to 20 participants. We ask that you only register if you are sure you will attend, and only register one person per form submission. Masks are required if you are unvaccinated.

In the event of inclement weather, registrants will be notified. For more information, please call (617) 384-5209.
