DESCRIPTION:Join Helen Murphy\, LCSW for a family wellness walk at the Arnold Arboretum! Time in nature provides a stunning space to exhale as well as a myriad of mental health benefits. Helen will lead families on a leisurely walk to introduce participants not only to the unique plants within the Arboretum\, but also to wellness practices along the way. Join us for an opportunity to recharge and connect! \n\n\n\nAccessibility: We will be covering about one mile \n\n\n\nAudience: Families with school-age children \n\n\n\nInclement weather policy: This program will run rain or shine\, but may be cancelled in the case of snow or severe weather.

SUMMARY:Owl Prowl
DESCRIPTION:Dusk is a perfect time to look and listen for Great Horned Owls\, often heard calling throughout the Arboretum’s collections. Join Arboretum Horticulturist Brendan Keegan and Matt Kamm\, Associate Director of Field Conservation at Zoo New England\, to hear about the owls’ breeding and nesting behavior\, learn how to go owling ethically\, and possibly hear and see a few owls as well. \n\n\n\nPlease note that we have the best chance of seeing owls if the group is calm and quiet\, so get your chatting out before the walk starts! \n\n\n\nAccessibility: Participants will walk over paved roads\, woodchip paths\, mowed grass\, and off-path terrain. \n\n\n\nAudience: This program is geared towards adults. \n\n\n\nInclement weather policy: Participants will be notified via email at least one day in advance if a program needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather\, and will be notified by phone if a program must be cancelled with less one day’s notice. Click here to view our full inclement weather policy. If you have questions about the status of a program\, please email publicprograms@arnarb.harvard.edu (inbox monitored on weekdays) or call the Visitor Center desk between 10:00am and 4:00pm at (617) 384-5209.
