SUMMARY:Magnolias Up Close
DESCRIPTION:This is a members-only program. Not a member? Click here to join. \n\n\n\nThe Arboretum’s magnolia collection is best known for its showy blossoms in the early spring\, but these trees have something special to share in the fall too: strange\, cone-like seed pods bursting with striking red and orange seeds. Join Director of Horticulture and Landscape Rodney Eason and Arboretum Gardener Sylvia Maina for a tour of the magnolias in all their fall glory. \n\n\n\nAccessibility: Most of the magnolias are clustered right around the Hunnewell Building and lawn\, but the tour may also venture down gravel paths to reach some of more far-flung specimens. \n\n\n\nAudience: This members-only program is geared towards adults. \n\n\n\nInclement weather policy: Participants will be notified via email at least one day in advance if a program needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather\, and will be notified by phone if a program must be cancelled with less one day’s notice. Click here to view our full inclement weather policy. If you have questions about the status of a program\, please email publicprograms@arnarb.harvard.edu (inbox monitored on weekdays) or call the Visitor Center desk between 10:00am and 4:00pm at (617) 384-5209.
