Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
The safety of our volunteers and coordinators is our number-one priority. Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), all 2020 in-person events are cancelled.
We encourage those who are comfortable spending time on the grounds to continue Tree Spotting over the coming months while practicing safe “social distancing” (maintaining at least six feet of distance from others at all time) and good hygiene measures. Please see recommendations from the Center for Disease Control here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html
The 2020 season of data collection marks the official conclusion of the Tree Spotters program. The Arboretum is actively looking into new citizen science opportunities that will directly support the Arboretum’s mission. If you are interested in participating in future citizen science programs at the Arboretum please email Kate Stonefoot, the Arboretum’s Manager of Visitor Engagement.

Many thanks to our dedicated volunteers who have recorded over 250,000 observations over the course of nearly five years with the program!
