Lilac Sunday

From early May through mid June, the Arboretum’s extensive Syringa (lilac) collection blooms along the edge of Bussey Hill Road, delighting visitors with color and fragrance. For more than 100 years, the Arboretum has celebrated this harbinger of spring with a daylong festival during their flowering peak—Lilac Sunday. Join garden enthusiasts from all over New England for picnicking (on this special day only), dance performances, guided and self-guided tours, family activities, and more. The Arboretum is open as usual from dawn to dusk; refreshments and activities are available from 10am to 4pm. More >
