Arnold Arboretum and China

For over a century, Arboretum staff have explored and documented the natural and cultural resources of Asia, including China and Tibet. This page highlights scientific research, conservation efforts, important plants, plus rich archival and contemporary photography.

As far back as 1905 and continuing today, the Arnold Arboretum has been investigating south-central China, a hotspot of biodiversity.

Explore plants from China in a scientific catalog called a Flora. This Flora was created by an international team of scientists and shows the extraordinary diversity of plant species in China.
