I’ve been a research assistant with the Darwin Correspondence Project at Harvard and Cambridge University since February, 2011. I answer research queries for the project’s editors, and contribute to the Darwin & Human Nature initiative. When I’m not thinking about Darwin, I’m a PhD student in History, Anthropology, and STS (HASTS) at MIT. My research interests lie at the intersection of economics history, the environment, science, and technology. My dissertation is about the origins and global distribution of ‘native’ British breeds of livestock in the nineteenth century, and the origins of industrialized meat production.
