I am one of the librarians at the Arnold Arboretum Horticultural Library. I primarily manage our journal subscriptions—ensuring they are received, renewed, and that missing issues are requested—as well as new library acquisitions. I have been the project cataloger for the digitization of several of our historical photograph collections. This has given me an in-depth knowledge of our holdings and helps me fulfill requests for the use of our historical images. If you would like to learn about what the library has to offer, please contact me and we can schedule a training session.
Prior to coming to the Arnold Arboretum, I was employed for many years as a librarian in the insurance industry, first on the property/casualty side and later in the life/health and financial services realm.
Outside of work I am the instructor of a women’s welding course at Stonybrook Fine Arts in Jamaica Plain. We offer classes in a variety of sculptural media and are the only place in the Boston area where an artist can complete the entire process of creating a sculpture, making a mold of it, and then casting it in bronze.
In addition to my artistic pursuits, I am involved with historical reenactment. As an adjunct to that, I have been researching costume construction techniques of the sixteenth century.
