I’ve spent my career concentrating on the financial management of non-profit institutions, in the arts, public and private K-12 education, and since 2001 in higher education. I have been at the Arboretum since 2007 and revel in its endless beauty and countless stories. There is always more to learn! My job is often to be a liaison between the needs of the staff of the Arboretum and Harvard University’s administrative and financial systems.
A native of New Hampshire, I have lived as far west as San Francisco and as far east as London. My twin passions are horticulture and the arts. My husband and I live in an artists’ community in the Waltham Mills where he is a painter and sculptor (I do a little quilt-making), and we are devoted fans of art museums, live music, theater, and dance. Our “other” life is spent on twelve acres in the Berkshires in a house where we raised our three children, and where I battle several kinds of critters for domination of an 80’ long perennial border. When we aren’t working or attending arts performances, we love to hike in wilderness areas. For my community involvement, I serve as Treasurer of the Justice Resource Institute, a Boston non-profit that provides residential and non-residential treatment for traumatized, mentally ill, and disabled young adults.
