Arnold Arboretum

Calling all Artists

Local artists are invited to submit work inspired by the plants and landscape of the Arnold Arboretum for the upcoming Artists in the Arboretum juried exhibition, organized in conjunction with Jamaica Plain Open Studios.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, July 24 at midnight. Decisions will be announced on August 11.

JP Open Studios weekend is September 20-21, 11:00am–6:00pm. The Artists in the Arboretum exhibition will be in the Hunnewell Building Lecture Hall from September 18-October 19, 2014 with an opening reception on September 18.

Art submitted for consideration should be inspired by the Arnold Arboretum, and two-dimensional, such as paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, and prints.  Artists do not have to have a studio in Jamaica Plain. Art does not have to depict the Arboretum, but should reflect the mission or aesthetic of the institution or place.

The Arnold Arboretum reserves the right to refuse any piece of artwork for any reason. A jury will evaluate all submissions. If accepted, artwork must be available during exhibition dates, be framed in a professional manner, and ready to hang.

Submit your artwork by email. All images must be accompanied by a completed form. Submissions without a form will not be considered.
